570 2013 base model review

I’m new to posting on this site but I have been following it for a little while to decide whether or not to buy the 570. After several months I pulled the trigger and purchased one, it is the base 2013 model ($8721 OTD). I fully expected to correct a few issues after my purchase based on the information I collected during my research.

I have had absolutely no problems, issue or complaint that is noted in some of forums and discussions. Obviously I’m not complaining, because this is a good thing and has made the majority of my apprehensions go away.

Now before everyone starts questioning my review and or competency let me throw this out. I’m almost 50 and have been riding and maintaining dirt bikes since I was 10 years old. The past 10 years I have been heavy into quads, utility and sport with lots of trail riding and XC woods racing. I do all of my own work and pride myself on preventive and proactive maintenance. No one likes to be stranded or end their day of riding because of a mechanical mistake, or oversight. Although accidents /dares, bets etc.. do happen, but let’s not include rider error and or judgment into this review.

Loose nuts or bolts – none found

Wiring harness and routing – routed okay, but added a few zip ties to ensure that it stayed that way

Spark plug –champion factory – changed to a NGK all of my toys have NGK

Handling – good for what it is, will play with front sway bar disconnect soon

Engine – runs great, no backfiring or any such hiccups. I was very surprised at how well it runs and how quiet and smooth it is

Breaks – good feel, effective and quiet so far

Air intake - On my 2013 the two piece air intake did not have an “O” ring. It hand a rubber /composite band approximately 3/8 inch wide that fit perfectly and did exactly what it was made to do. Seal the connection and stay that way, the clamp can be tightened with no distortion, bulging or crimping. I attempted to get it break free by hitting it and pulling it with more force than I should and it never moved or distorted. I rode it 25 miles on rough wooded, rocky and muddy terrain, stopping to check it as I went with absolutely no problem. (as side note I did buy the spectre adapter hose and install it) again I like to be proactive and overcautious on the mechanical side) but I have reason to believe the band design would have failed with normal use.

Overall I’m very pleased with the 570, I was glad that mine did not have any of the issues that I was expecting. With over a hundred miles on it now, I can honestly say it is one of my favorite pass times. Plus all of the crap I get to order and install on it helps with the cold rainy days.
