Hayabusa swap ... 1200 miles and still going strong

Glad this forum is up and I have not posted here yet so thought I would add a post and certainly willing to help anyone considering a swap with my experiences.

I know a lot of the fear around engine swaps is reliability. This is actually my second engine swap RZR as had a Honda RC51 previously. Sure, I went through some learning and a few "issues" here and there but nothing really major in the end or that left me stranded. I am now on my third sand season and the Hayabusa is an amazing engine. Lots of torque and HP. Banging gears is a lot of fun and easy to drive. Never had any chain problems even when the clearance was not there and it rubbed a bit. I now have over 1200 miles of nothing but sand and a ton of this is hill and drag passes with no issues.

A little proof from this weekend launching of the top of Patton Hill in Gordon's Well (with a passenger). This is the steep soft side too. Keep in mind this is stock engine (2nd gen ... not even the more powerful 3rd gen) with just an intake, Power Commander, and dyno tune:

Went to the drags after this and the calibrated speedo hit 100 MPH per my passenger (I was holding on for my life and no chance of a glance at the speedo LOL). I know I have done 87 before with GPS but this was the first time I rode it out into 5th gear so might be true ... keep in mind there is another gear remaining that I have no desire to see where it takes me too LOL.
