Hey guys, I recently bought a 2011 xp 900, haven't even put a full tank of fuel through it, I went to start my xp yesterday and the starter wouldn't engage, just spun. I did a bunch of reading on here and found the path to follow for diagnostics. I ran through the voltage tests first, everything has checked out. I now am to the point where I have the stator cover off, inspected the starter gear on the end of the shaft, looks good with no wear and no breakage. I can spin the intermediate gear both ways by hand, which tells me that the one way bearing is shot.
My question for you is, the service manual suggests to replace the one way and starter gear as an assembly. Is this necessary? Have any of you just replaced the one way and have had luck/no luck....input would be great. Also I need to get a flywheel puller, any vendors on here that sell them?
Thanks in advance guys!
