Home Made roof

After chopping the cage on my 800 LE, I decided i wanted a different roof. We all strive to make our toys different from every one else. I didn't want the typical flat sheet metal roof, it has no style,or eye appeal. I wanted something different and stylish and maybe I could incorporate my LED light bar into it instead of on top as all the others. I started with a sketch as usual,then transferred it to a template looked at it awhile and tweaked it here and there and then laid it out on a 4 x 8 sheet of 16 ga. sheet metal and took it to the sheet metal brake where i bent it up and welded it together. it is fabricated from 2 different pieces, the top and sides are one piece and the back is the other. Before you ask, I broke down the weight into realistic weights and measure so we can all relate to it. it weighs less than a 12 pack of beer, in a cooler, covered with 1/2 cubic foot of ice. i have not gotten the rear tail lights, third brake light or back up camera installed yet but it is near complete. Lights and camera would add a couple of cans of beer to the overall weight[/IMG]. I hope you enjoy the how to photos.
