Cooling system problems, need ideas!!

Ive got a buddy with an 2010 S and back in the winter he replaced the frame so of course EVERYTHING was taken apart. When he got it all put back together he started having an overheating problem. All the hoses are in the correct orientation. He also put a new radiator in with the new frame. Every time he opens the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing it will set and blow air for several minutes before any coolant will escape. We had a group riding saturday and had issues all day with it overheating. On a side note everything was fine with it until the frame change, no problems at all. When it sits and idles it will fill the overflow thank full and will squirt coolant out through the hole in the tank cap. For the amount of air that comes out of the bleeder screw and the time frame this has been going on there is no possible way theres still air in the system. We took the thermostat out saturday to see if maybe it was stuck but it moves just fine and looks brand new. We have worked on it constantly and have wrecked our brains for ideas but just cant figure this one out. The head gasket seems fine but we have not done a compression test yet or pressure tested the cooling system. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
