River Riding

Just bought a Rzr 900 Xp a few weeks ago, been going through it making sure fluids are good and getting my add ons put on the machine. Finally was ready to go this past weekend. Trying to squeak out a last few river rides of the winter. The river is starting to get sketchy in spots, but it is stille in the teens and hitting negatives at night up here in the U.P. Hopefully one more weekend.

The river was fast and I was happy with the 900's power. I hit 70 at one point on the river, but mainly averaged about 50-60 m.p.h. Never needed a winch between me and all my buddies that last few years of riding, but this past Saturday it was a life saver. One buddy in his 900 (evasive green) broke through, and that took a hour or so to get him out. I winched him out and I also winched a maverick out of a deep snow bank, and also had to winch myself out of a snow bank. We put about 75 miles on that day on the river. Everything was going smooth all day, no close calls until the end... we were about 1 mile or so from my buddies house, and were given er back,

I was following my buddy in his 900 and he went over a spot on the river and as soon as he went over the ice started to collapse, I was moving too fast to stop or take another route so when I hit the ice collapsing my front end dropped quite a bit. I found myself looking down into the river, and thinking.. uh oh here we go. I guess I was so straight up and down that my buddy in his maverick said all he seen was skid plates. I'm glad I had a front bumper on there because i believe it collected so much slush that it slowed me down enough to slow my momentum and come back down on my tires, but that's not were the excitement ended. once I came to stop i looked out the side of the rzr and all I seen was a big Maverick sliding sideways at me, Lucky my buddy knew what he was doing and hammered on the gas to pull out of the slide, ended up just hitting tires, other than that no damage from any of it just one heck of a ride. heres some pictures of the day.

Enjoy..

My Voodoo Blue all ready to go.
