I am hoping you guys can give me som direction. I recently put my 2007 Polaris sportsman 800 back together after is sat for about a year and a half. it was down with a bad transmission. I never had a lick of motor troubles out of it other than overheating. After we took it on an annual atv rally we attend every year. I noticed a very small amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust under throttle. So little I actually wasn't even sure it was smoking. Rig ran fine no problems. It developed clutch problems and when I was going over the rig the following day I noticed the air filter was wet and some water in the housing. My kid was riding it and I am guessing he sucked some water. After I fixed the clutch we took it on the ride and the smoke got progressively worse through the day and it burned enough oil to get off the dipstick after being full. It will not idle now and I am not sure if it has power issues because I just put new vampire EDL's on it an noticed a power loss but beleive it's due to the added weight over stock tires. I have people suggest valve problems and rings as potential issues. Any help diagnosing the problem would be great.
