Diy cheap 1.5-2" pipe lift

Well ill get started by telling about my machine.
2012 50" rzr 800le

now has satv+5 S conversion with satv phantom sport shocks.
2" racertech lift from when it was a 50"
1" front wheel spacers
29.5 outlaws.

so i ordered a lift kit to go on the bottom of the shocks but it wouldnt work with the SATV a-arms.

so i made my own.

supplys needed
- tools req'd to remove shocks from unit.
- 2 ratchet straps
- 4 1/2"-3/4" pipe couplings. around $1-2ea at the hardware store, free from my parts bin at work.)

to start remove the shocks from the machine and place in vice

then using ratchet straps (can buy a cheap spring compressor but i had straps there) compress the springs enough to take the retaining washer off the top of the spring

at this point i lifted the spring off and set it under the bench incase one of the straps were to let go.

i clamped the stem just below the eye in the vice and un screwed the eye

take off the washer and drop the coupling in place as shown

re install the eye and washer onto the stem. i used a dab or loctite to make sure it stays put

you will now want to reverse the process of taking it apart but have the coupling between the washer and the big spring washer. and CAREFULLY release the ratchet straps one notch at a time. if you dont know how to do this i suggest a spring compressor. and you should end up with something like this.

i then put 4 tack welds on the coupling just to keep it centered on the washer

and voila a cheap way to gain an inch or two.

i gained 2" but turned down the setting on my shocks a notch or two so it gave me 1.5 give or take. im now at 17 1/4" from the ground to the front diff bolt. and 16 1.4" from the ground to the bottom of the reciever on the rear.

hope this helps others looking for a cheap 1.5-2" lift
