cage chop at 6" and headroom???

Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to build a new cage for the kids' 170 and I have wanted to chop the 4's cage too. Why not get it all done and settled right? I'm trying to get clearance to fit the cars in 16' shed in my yard and the door opening is only 72" tall as well as the toy hauler with 2 bunks above it. Well, with the plastic roof (wife insists it stays) I'm at 78" now. If I can cut the cage the same 6" I read all over the place here, we could make it work or I could let her know that I HAVE to convert to a plate roof for clearance (and looks in my eyes).

My issue with it is, I'm 5'9" and sitting in the back seat (admittedly for the first time) to test fit my height, I noticed that 6" would put my head around 2-3 inches from the bars. That won't fly with adults back there, especially when we make sure everyone wears a helmet. So.....

Does anyone have pics or vids of the chopped cage with an adult back there? Has anyone run into any issues with it?

If I can go with a 4" chop, that might work and I just deflate the tires or something since I will only put it in the shed during the winter time and not on a daily or weekend occasion. The 4 " will work in the haulers but I would like to go to a 27" or so tire maybe.

Anyone??

Thanks
Dave
